Personal Spiritual Disciplines

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness” (1 Tim 4:7) (NASB).

God commands his people to engage the spiritual disciplines so that they would grow in godliness and the likeness of Christ. Those disciplines are things like Bible reading, Bible meditation, prayer, Scripture memory, serving, etc.

Over the course of this semester, starting at the end of January, we will be teaching through these spiritual disciplines. Our aims in this class are to familiarize ourselves with biblical spiritual disciplines, encourage the practice of these disciplines in a way that honors the Lord’s purpose of sanctification in our lives in the context of the local church, and stir within our hearts from the words of Scripture a desire to grow in godliness and conformity to the likeness of Christ.

The class is open to all adults, and free of charge. If you are interested in participating in this class, please click here for the syllabus with more information on location, class schedule, class description, and class resources.

Please comment on this post if you are interested in participating in this class. We will gladly follow up with you to get you more information.

Class on Eschatology

Starting on August 18th we will begin a class on eschatology: the study of last things!

Description: This class on eschatology is a 10-session equipping class that helps the student firmly grasp the truths that all Christians must believe about the future for the purpose of honoring Christ by maintaining unity within a local church context. Also, perspectives on the millennial debate will be engaged, views of the timing of the rapture will be discussed, and narrative frameworks on the continuity of Scripture will be presented. Drawing conclusions on each of these areas of study, we will aim to stir within our hearts a longing for the “blessed hope, the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).

Location: Jenks Bible Church Facility

When: 10 Designated Thursdays in the Fall of 2022 from 6:30-7:45pm

Participate: Sign Up Sheet in foyer

Resources: pick up syllabus on sign up table in foyer or download the syllabus here

Women's Ministry

Women's Ministry

We desire to have a Women’s Ministry that fulfills Titus 2:3-5. The prayer of the elders is that this study would help to fulfill Titus 2 by connecting older and younger women for the purpose of discipleship and training. This study will provide a context where older and younger women can connect with one another, and hopefully, will create pathways for older and younger women to meet together outside of this study in continuing discipleship, training, and encouragement.
